LIONS CLUB of Patong Beach

The Lions Club of Patong Beach is sponsoring a community activity for the children of the three schools in Patong Beach. Together with the support of local businesses the Lions are having this fun and learning activity to encourage the children to be aware of the importance of protecting the beaches and sea for their future.

The children of Wat Suwan Kiriwong School, Sai Nam Yen School and Ka Lim School will assist 5 groups of volunteer divers to collect trash from the sea and beach.

Students gathering the trash will compete for prizes & trophies awarded in many fun & interesting categories. The Phuket Aquarium and some other charity groups will have displays in the main tent area.

Activity Schedule
- 8:00 AM Gathering of the students
- 8:15 Lucky drawing to define the teams and give special color T-shirts to each of the 5 teams.
- 8:30 Explanations for the trash collecting - 8:45 Students run to their collection zones
- 9:00 Children learning activities, beach cleaning & trash collection. Each boat will have students to
  help the divers bringing trash to the surface and bringing it to shore for weighing and sorting.
- 11:30 Sculpture creations using the collected trash.
- 13:00 Lunch for all the participants, volunteers and VIP guests
- 14:00 PM Call to ceremony by emcee Pong Chongchit and introduction of Lions president
  Claude de Crissey and Lions charter president Rohn-Napa Kanjanayothee.
- 14:15 Welcome by Governor Dr. Preecha Ruangjan and introduction of VIP guests including
  Patong deputy mayor Chairat Sukban and Pol. Col. Kritsak Songmutnak.
- 14:30 Celebration for the student team competition winners and awards for trash collection,
   the awarding of trophies for teachers, and the awarding of special scholorship incentives.
- 15:00 Closing remarks by the Lions Club of Patong Beach charter president Lion Rohn-Napa and
  president Lion Claude de Crissey, and a Lions ROAR of all volutneers and students.
